On this birthday, as with every birthday, I raise up a toast in memory of my dear friend and fellow free spirit, Brian Paul Mercado. Thanks to knowing him and in part because of losing him at a young age, I appreciate EVERY birthday and understand how lucky I am to live each day. Bri, you are still loved and missed, every single day!!! Cheers....
This now goes out to Ygal too. Iggy Pop. My brother-in-law. Little brother to Alain. Sweet uncle to my girls. Iggy, to say that you are missed every day would be the understatement of the century. But you are always with us!
{Sorry for the photo-less post. Extremely short on time lately.}
Thank you Audrey, now I believe I know you a little better ;-))
ReplyDeleteHappy 41th
Carlo
Nonno, I bet you smiled when I said Italy is my favorite country to visit. Of course it is! Where else, right? Un abbraccio!!!
DeleteDear Audrey,
ReplyDeleteNow it is MY turn to say belated happy birthday to YOU!!
What a wonderful post, I LOVED reading this! So often with these answers, I kept nodding my head, saying "THAT's my girl!!"
And the day that I get a tattoo, that will be a day that someone has drugged me!! NEVER ON MY SKIN EITHER!!
I loved this post, it is so you! xxx
Thanks, Kay! Hope you enjoyed your birthday and that your weather was as beautiful as mine on Saturday. It was truly divine! XOXO
DeleteHope you had a happy birthday. Rick, your latest follower.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rick! I look forward to checking our your blog.
DeleteHa - I didn't even notice there wasn't a photo in this post until you mentioned it at the end. I just jumped right in and started ready your fun answers. You know what I love? That you didn't feel forced to choose between one or the other on some of these questions - you just chose to say neither. Love this list, love that you gave props to your friend and brother-in-law at the end, love that your birthday is close to mine, and love that we are friends! Have a great week, Audrey! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! I sent you an email. I can't wait to find out when your birthday is. :-) Thank you again for the lovely Instagram birthday shout-out. So sweet of you.... XOXO
DeleteHappy Birthday, Audrey!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had an awesome day! 41 ~ I could be your mother! LOL! Yes, the years just keep coming, and thank goodness they do! I've been very busy since I got back from Hawaii, and the days are flying by!
I've been looking at your last couple of posts. As always, I love the photos of your beautiful girls ~ but how can Sophie be big enough to go to a father-daughter dance? Wow! I loved your hard core beach photos ~ You and the girls under an umbrella with powdered sugar all over your smiles! Terry and I are hard core people too!
I really enjoyed reading the answers to your questions! So many I could respond to! But guess where I'm going to be in the not so distant future? Iceland!!!!! I've wanted to go there all my life, and I will be there for four nights in June.
I hope you have an awesome year of wonderful you!
Take care ~ I hope things slow down for you a little!
Oh Louise, PLEASE TAKE ME WITH YOU!!! Ha ha. I am slightly envious. Okay, crazy wicked envious. If you're only there for 4 nights, does that mean it's in combo with some other place? I cannot even wait to hear about this. Since college (a long time ago), I've dreamed of going to Iceland. Other people dream of hot places, I dream of cold ones. Ha! Thanks so much for your sweet comment. I'm a Girl Scout leader for Sophie's Daisy troop and they have a Father/Daughter Dance each year. It's their favorite event the entire year. So adorable! And I hope things slow down too. Stop the glorification of busy, I say! :-) Talk soon....
DeleteI'd love to take you with us Audrey!!!!!
DeleteWe're flying to London, via Reykjavik, changing planes, stopping overnight in London to pick up the keys to Terry's sister's and BIL's flat in Notting Hill, taking the Chunnel to Paris, then 3 nights in Paris, Chunnel back to England, 2 weeks in Noreen's and Cathal's flat, then to Iceland for the four nights, then home!
When I was in 2nd grade I read about a family that went on a picnic in Iceland. They boiled eggs in a hot spring for lunch, and I knew right then and there, that I had to go to Iceland! I've been waiting a long time. I always taught my kiddos about Iceland, and I've had some Icelandic króna in my passport folder for years!
How sweet about Sophie and the GS dances with her dad. In Canada they were the Girl Guides and I belonged to them whenever I lived in a place that had Brownies or Girl Guides. I could make all kinds of furniture for camping out of twine and sticks ~ Pioneer Badge!!!!! Too busy!!! You're right stop. I have to run to meet my trainer (I'm going to surf next year!). I read your latest post when I get back. I can't wait!
Oh Louise, a family flat in Notting Hill???? You really are trying to kill me, aren't you? I adore Notting Hill. I could walk in that little antique market all day. (Actually, I did once.) Will you be blogging from there? I hope so. I will be DYING to hear all about your trip. And the surfing....you inspire me. I told Alain in Kiawah that I wanted to SUP.....and he LAUGHED AT ME. I guess I would need to lose some lbs first!
